People & Culture Partner
We are currently looking for a People & Culture Partner for Stora Enso, Varkaus Containerboard mill.
We are seeking a dynamic People & Culture Partner to lead our people initiatives as well as ensuring compliant people processes in Varkaus mill. In this role, you will shape and drive the people strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and fostering a culture that promotes engagement, inclusivity, and innovation. As a key member of the mill leadership team, you will work closely with managers and employees across all levels to support the execution of our strategy.
Containerboard Mill operations include wood handling plant, pulp mill, recycled fibre plant and boardmachine, which produces kraftliners. Containerboard Mill is also responsible for integrate’s energy, environmental, internal transportation and security services.
You will report to VP, People & Culture Business units Cartonboard and Fresh Containerboard and you will be based in Varkaus, Finland. We expect that you will be able to work primarily on-site at the mill, but remote work days will be possible later on. The recruitment will be carried out in collaboration with StaffPoint, and the selected individual will be directly employed by Stora Enso.

Main responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Finnish labor laws, collective bargaining agreements as well as company policies and practices in the mill
- Support and guide managers in different employee lifecycle processes (e.g. attract, hire and retain talents, onboarding) as well as in annual cycle processes
- Support managers is rehabilitation, wellbeing and occupational health care related topics
- Act as a trusted advisor for managers and employees, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts
- Manage day-to-day HR operations together with colleagues in Global Business Services
- Use HR metrics and analytics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Support organizational changes and help employees adapt to evolving business needs.
- Act as a cultural ambassador, driving initiatives that enhance employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Implement performance management systems and performance culture that foster ambition, agility, analytical approach and accountability
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in division People & Culture organisation, Global Business Services as well as with relevant stakeholders in other functions
- Provide guidance to mill management on workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession planning.
- Identify training needs and develop programs to upskill employees at all levels. Promote a culture of continuous learning and career development.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a HR professional with breadth HR knowledge. You have been working with both employment relations topics as well as HR Business Partner type of tasks in sizable organisations. We expect you to be able to communicate fluently in Finnish and in English.
As People & Culture Partner, you should understand how to integrate people priorities with business strategy. We are looking for someone who is passionate to drive performance, accountability, change, organisational alignment as well as leadership.

Qualifications:
- Solid experience in HR leadership role in industrial company
- Strong knowledge of Finnish labor laws and regulations. Experience on Collective agreement in Paper industry (or similar) is clear advantage.
- Proven ability to deliver results in industrial environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in driving employee engagement, wellbeing and DEI
- Proficiency in Finnish and English (spoken and written).
- A suitable university degree or similar experiences
